1. All creatures of our God and King,
Lift up your voice and with us sing,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
2. Thou rushing wind that art so strong,
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice;
Ye light of evening, find a voice,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
3. Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship Him in humbleness,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One! O praise Him! Alleluia!

Devotional Based on the Hymn “All Creatures of Our God and King” by St. Francis of Assisi
Scripture reference: “Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and all that move in them.” – Psalm 69:34 (NIV) Lift Up Your Voice
There is something deeply humbling and awe-inspiring about this hymn. Written by St. Francis of Assisi nearly 800 years ago, it invites every part of creation—sun, moon, wind, water, fire, even death itself—to praise the Creator. It’s a poetic reminder that the universe is not silent. All of creation is singing. And we are invited to join this great choir.
But in the noise and pace of modern life, we can easily forget that worship is not limited to Sunday mornings or spiritual highs. It’s woven into the fabric of everything around us. The rustling leaves, the morning sun, the breath in our lungs—all quietly testify to God’s majesty.
The Call of the Hymn to us:
“All creatures of our God and King,
Lift up your voice and with us sing,
Alleluia! Alleluia!”
The hymn calls us not only to observe creation, but to participate in its worship. It doesn’t say “watch creation praise God,” it says “with us sing.” We are not spectators—we are fellow worshippers.
This perspective changes everything. It transforms our morning commute into an opportunity for gratitude. It reframes our time in nature as sacred. It reminds us that even in suffering or stillness, the song continues.
A Life of Praise
What would it look like if we lived with this awareness? If we saw ourselves as part of the grand chorus? Praise, in this context, is more than a song. It is a way of life—a daily turning of our hearts toward the Creator, in thankfulness, surrender, and wonder.
Whether in joy or sorrow, abundance or lack, the invitation remains the same: Lift up your voice and with creation, sing “Alleluia.”
Reflection Questions:
When was the last time you noticed nature praising God? (Psalm 19:1)
How can you join in that praise today -- through your words, actions, or attitude?
What part of your life needs to be reminded that it, too, can be an act of worship?
Prayer:
Creator God, open my eyes to see the worship that surrounds me. Let me not pass by the beauty of Your world without praise. Teach me to live in a way that joins the song of the stars, the rivers, and the birds. May my life be a continual “Alleluia” to You. Amen.
